Drapac Professional Cycling has wrapped up its 2014 Jayco Herald Sun Tour campaign with victory in the Sprint Classification for Jack Anderson. Racing on the final stage was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions and the concerns of emergency services personnel, meaning the results at the end of Stage 3 stood. Drapac also placed two riders in the top 10 of the General Classification with Jonathan Cantwell sixth, 1:21 behind winner Simon Clarke (Orica GreenEdge) and Will Clarke 10th?a further two seconds in arrears. ?The boys have had a good week,? said Directeur Sportif Agostino Giramondo. ?Believe it or not they were all geed today for the climb to Arthurs Seat. ?We changed our plan slightly to make sure this race was as hard as possible which would have suited our riders to a tee. I don?t think the climbing was an issue today and we could have seen gaps of up to four and five minutes coming into the finish.? Anderson netted the green jersey after two hard days of riding in the breakaway on Stages 2 and 3, totalling around 260km in front of the race. The 26-year-old, whose strengths certainly lie on the hillier parcours, was definitely pleased to top the classification. ?[I?m] Very surprised and thrilled and happy for Drapac Professional Cycling,? Anderson said having finished two points clear of Simon Clarke, while teammate Cantwell was third on 12 points. Anderson along with the rest of the Drapac team will now focus their attention on the Oceania Road Championships February 21-23 in Toowoomba. Anderson finished runner-up to Cameron Meyer at the 2013 edition and is determined to go one better. ?I?m pretty keen for Oceanias ? I?ve been up and seen the course,? he explained. ?It?s a good course and it suits all of us. It will be quite an aggressive and hard day.?
