Twelve months ago,?the then defending criterium champion?Kimberley Wells?followed Road National Championships on Twitter as she recovered from pneumonia. In Ballarat on Wednesday, the Canberra doctor reclaimed the green and gold jersey with an exciting win in the elite women’s criterium. After a difficult 12-months suffering from injury and illness, the 2013 criterium champion showed she is back to her best, out-sprinting?Peta Mullens?(VIC) and?Lauren KITCHEN?(Hitec Products) on Sturt Street, Ballarat. ?That picture crossing the line was exactly how I felt. Elated, hurting, excited. And I felt so pumped, because I knew I had daylight behind me,??said Wells who claimed the summer criterium trifecta with victories in Noosa, Launceston and St Kilda in November and December.
