State of Matter MAAP Racing Announces restructure ahead of 2016 NRS Season

Ahead of the start of the 2016 National Road series, State of Matter MAAP racing have instituted some major changes to set the team up for a successful 2016 National Road Series (NRS) season.

The team welcomes a number of new behind-the-scenes people to augment an already successful set up.

Renowned rider, DS and Olympic gold medalist Scott McGrory joins the team as the new Director Sportif. He will be ably assisted by long time world tour rider and co DS Jeremy Hunt who will focus on overseas racing and individual rider performances.

Warren Docker steps in as logistics and Service Course manager. Linda Hunter joins the team as Operations Manager.

The State of Matter MAAP team would like to thank Damo Harris for important service to the team as the director sportif over the past few years. Damo has taken the team from strength to strength and leaves the team in a strong position.

With just a few weeks until the start of the National Road Series, the team is set to fire with the new setup designed to make the most of the 2016 talent pool.

Scott McGrory: “I’m excited about the opportunity to join State of Matter MAAP to continue building something that benefits the collective, the individual rider and Australian cycling in general.”

“I always say that passion is the number one ingredient in success. While this is true, passion on its own may only ensure perseverance. Real success happens when passionate people are placed in an empowering environment and I’m keen to work with the whole team to produce such an environment…”

The team’s first Cycling Australia National Road Series event of 2016 sees the State of Matter MAAP team head to Northern NSW for the single day Grafton – Inverell race on Saturday 7th May.
