Ben Swift Ruled Out Of Giro d’Italia

Team Sky’s [W:Ben Swift] has been forced to withdraw from the [W:Giro d’Italia] after sustaining a fractured right shoulder whilst on a training ride. Swift, who devoted the start of his season to the track – taking a world title in the scratch race and two further silver medals in the recent World Championships – will now concentrate on making a full recovery. [W:Jeremy Hunt] will be added to the [W:Team Sky] squad for what is the 95th edition of the Giro d’Italia. The 38-year-old has previously competed in all three of cycling?s Grand Tours and comes into the squad following a consistent Classics campaign. The Giro kicks off on Saturday with an 8.7-kilometre time trial in Herning, Denmark.
