Track is back at Lavington! The fifth annual Lavington Track Carnival will be held at the Lavington Velodrome this December. Lavington has been the home of track cycling in the Albury-Wodonga region for many years, with the Albury-Wodonga Wheelrace being one of the richest Wheelraces in Australia in the 1980’s. The Lavington Carnival was revived in 2009, involving local charities and raising funds for those in need. Last year saw Jonathon Styles win the 1000m Handicap and Brendan Washington win the Bill Washington Memorial Aces Scratch Race. Former Olympian Steve Fairless won the feature event, the 2000m Lavington Wheelrace. 2013 Lavington Track Carnival: Photo Gallery Once again the Lavington Track Carnival will raise funds for a local charity, this year in aid of The Carevan Foundation – supporting those in need.
