The official presentation of Katusha Team, despite the pending dispute relating to the refusal of the UCI License Commission to register the team for the 2013 season, took place on 19 December, 2012 in a warm and friendly atmosphere and demonstrated the power and ambition of Russian spirit in the team and the cohesion of the whole collective of the Russian project. The presentation was attended by guests of the team, sponsors and partners of the Russian Global Cycling Project, as well as representatives of the Russian and European mass media. Wojciech Walkiewicz, the President of the European Cycling Union was appointed as the honorary guest of the event. The renewed Katusha Team ? 2013, consisting of 30 riders, was presented to the world?s cycling community: Maxim Belkov, Pavel Brutt, Sergei Chernetckii, Vladimir Gusev, Petr Ignatenko, Mikhail Ignatyev, Vladimir Isaychev, Dmitry Kozonchuk, Alexander Kolobnev, Timofey Kritskiy, Viacheslav Kuznetsov, Denis Menchov, Alexander Porsev, Yuriy Trofimov, Alexey Tsatevich, Eduard Vorganov, Anton Vorobyev (all ? Russia); Xavier Florencio, Alberto Losada, Daniel Moreno, Joaquim Rodriguez, Angel Vicioso (all ? Spain); Giampaolo Caruso, Luca Paolini (both ? Italy); Marco Haller (Austria), Alexander Kristoff (Norway), Aliaksandr Kuchynski (Belarus), Rudiger Selig (Germany), Gatis Smukulis (Latvia) and Simon Spilak (Slovenia). Viacheslav Ekimov, the general manager of Katusha Team presented not only the rider?s roster, but also team?s sports directors: Valerio Piva, Dmitrii Konyshev, Gennady Mikhaylov, Torsten Schmidt, Claudio Cozzi and Uwe Peschel. During the presentation, as a gesture of good will and as a continuation of the social policy promoted by the Russian Global Cycling Project, Viacheslav Ekimov?donated fully equipped teams bikes from?Canyon to the Brescia Center for treatment and rehabilitation of children suffering from leukemia, whose representatives were invited to the event.? The bicycle’s will be sold at a special auction, and all the proceeds will be used for the development of this center. The presentation once again has confirmed the intention of the team management to defend the interests of Russian cycling through all possible ways and to return the World Tour license to Russian team.
