Andr? Greipel of Lotto Belisol has reeled in the victory in the fourth stage of the Tour of Turkey. The stage started in Gocek and finished in Marmaris. In the final ten kilometers the road went uphill. Greipel survived well and showed his fast legs at the end in a group of about forty riders. He beat his fellow countryman Nikias Arndt and the Dutchman Moreno Hofland. Adam Hansen went along in the early breakaway today, which was a good cause for the team. There is also less good news from the Lotto Belisol team. In the descent of a climb of second category, after 50 kilometers of racing, Oliver Kaisen crashed together with about ten others. He has an open wound of his thighbone and that had to be stitched. After Jonas Van Genechten dislocated his collarbone in a massive crash in stage two, the team now loses a second man. Andr? Greipel: “Ten kilometers before the finish it went uphill till six kilometers to go, then it was downhill. The last two kilometers were flat. We didn’t need to work today, because Adam was in the breakaway. I could stay with the front group when it went uphill the last time, there were no others sprinters left. Then I took my chance and got the victory. We look day by day, if there’s another sprint we’ll try again, like Sunday in Istanbul.” Jean-Pierre Heynderickx, sports director: “That we have lost both Jonas Van Genechten and Olivier Kaisen after a crash is of course a shame. We came to Turkey with the aim of winning a stage with Andr? Greipel and to get a good position in the GC with Adam Hansen. We achieved the first goal today. The next four stages we go for a second win with Andr?, he’s in a very good condition. There will definitely be another sprint Sunday in Istanbul.” “Now we are only with six, it will be difficult for us to control the race, we’ll have to ride along. Adam Hansen has shown himself in the escape today, he’s now 22nd at 2’14” of leader Berhane, probably he’s too far behind to get a place in the top ten.”
