Australian U23 Time Trial Champion Jenelle Crooks signs with Specialized Securitor for 2015

Australian U23 time trial champion, Jenelle?Crooks, will join the Specialized Securitor women?s?team in 2015, with Subaru National Road Series?(NRS) high on her agenda. The 20-year-old, from?Queensland, finished fourth in this year?s NRS?despite a stint of racing in Europe, which included?riding the La Course by the Tour de France and?placing 2nd Young Rider at UCI Thuringen?Rundfahrt as part of the Australian National?Development Squad.??I?ve ridden the NRS in support of Ruth Corset,?who won the series this year, and I?ve learnt a lot?from that,? Crooks said. ?Stepping into a leadership role at Specialized?Securitor, with a really strong, professional team is?going to be a new challenge but one I?m looking?forward to.? ?I?m super excited about getting to know the team?and getting stuck into the racing, which for me will?kick off at the Cycling Australia Road National?Championships, in January.? Team manager Liz Phillipou can?t wait to see?Crooks racing in the red and white ?Jenelle is one of the best up and coming young talents in Australia and I feel she will be the perfect addition to our already strong 2015 team? she said. ?In past years we have been heavily focused on the Summer Criterium Season but now in our 4th year I feel we finally have a well rounded team to be serious contenders in the NRS as well.? Phillipou has flagged the National Road Race as a main focus for the young team and is putting together the best possible combination to contest against the might of Pro-team Orica AIS. Post National?s, Jenelle?s focus will be firmly on the NRS series and she is also hoping for a few starts overseas to gain more racing experience at a Pro level. ?Next year my objectives are to improve my results from last year, to strengthen my weaknesses as well as take as many opportunities that come my way? said Crooks. With Jenelle completing the team there are now eight riders confirmed at Specialized Securitor for 2015. Crooks will race alongside new team mates Anna-Leeza Hull, Elizabeth Doueal and Jasmine McMillan as well as returning signings Cassie Dodd, Verita Stewart, Sophie Mackay and Claire Trembath. No changes to the staff with DS Bec Domange and Mechanic Zeke Ashworth returning to the helms of the ship. The team is lucky to have the continued support of sponsors Specialized, Securitor, Capo and Adidas Eyewear also returning for another year
