Cellarbrations Racing Team (CRT) will head to Canberra for this week’s Vie13 National Capital Tour with high hopes, bolstered by two important additions to the squad that competed in the recent Lakes Oil Tour of Gippsland.
After performing strongly to take 5th place behind Chris Jory in the NSW Road Championships late last month, Scott Bradburn will make his first NRS start for 2014, whilst the highly experienced Canberra rider Andrew Arundel will also join the CRT ranks as a guest rider having recently returned to Australia following a racing stint in Europe.
“Josh Berry and Declan Baker had really strong tours at Gippsland, without having much luck,” says CRT Director Russell Menzies. “Kris, Cameron and Matt rode their tails off in support, but there’s only so much five guys can do. With the addition of two powerful riders in Scott and Andrew it gives us a whole new dimension, especially tactically. Given the right circumstances we now have four guys who could genuinely challenge for stages. It’s an exciting time.”
The Vie13 National Capital Tour is the second last stage race in the 2014 Subaru National Road Series, and will be followed closely by the Tour of Tasmania before CRT’ focus shifts to the season-ending classics, Melbourne to Warrnambool and Grafton to Inverell.
