2014 Tour of Toowoomba – Stage 3 – Data#3 Symantec Race Team
With its UCI Continental Licence application submitted to Cycling Australia, the Data#3 Symantec Racing P/B Scody?team is very excited about this build in its program, which has been conservatively growing since 2008. 2015 will be the 3rd?year of the team?s 5 year strategic growth plan. This growth has been in planning for quite some time and with the endorsement of our key sponsors, the team has built the integrity required to be a?sustainable team at Continental level. Our roster includes a number of riders that have participated strongly at Continental level, with European experience, in addition to solid performances at various Australian National Road Championships and the Herald Sun Tour in recent years. Complimenting this balance of experience are some exciting young up and coming Australian cyclists that have, at a minimum, achieved podiums and wins at National Road Series level ? and have clear goals to progress in this sport to a professional level. The team is very excited to present our Sports Directors for 2015, the ?two Peters?: Peter Richards (Teco Training) and Peter Zijerveld (www.knwu.nl). Peter Richards has been coaching many cyclists at all levels of the sport and we are pleased to have him in our corner. Peter Zijerveld is the head coach of cycling talent development at the Dutch Cycling Federation. ?Prior to that Peter Zijerveld was a Dutch radio and TV sports journalist for 8 years and previous to that was a professional cyclist with DAF Trucks ?and competed at the highest level in the Tour De France, Vuelta Espana , Paris – Nice and many more European classics. He went on to be a successful professional triathlete. We are very pleased to have the support of Peter Zijerveld, and we think he will enhance events that we would be grateful to receive invitations to and assist in the development and performance of this team over the early phase of the 2015 racing calendar. Over the course of 2014, the team broadened its racing schedule and achieved break through wins at Battle on the Border and the overall win at the 12 stage Tour of Poyang Lake, China and representation at a Paracycling World Cup. 2014 also saw all of its Elite squad improve and develop with many filling their CV and gaining invaluable team racing experience. Strengthening the existing team to Continental level in 2015 are the following key signings: Marc Williams ? Canberra Michael Cupitt ? Canberra Chris Jory ? Sydney James Mowatt ? Melbourne Tyler Spurrell ? Melbourne Ryan Thomas ? Inverell ? u/23 Craig Evers ? Canberra Riders renewing for 2015: David Melville ? Brisbane Adam Allen ? Brisbane Kyle Bridgwood ? The Data#3?sponsor community is a collective of national / global ICT solution vendors and other fantastic businesses that enable our business objectives.
