Aidis Kruopis (Orica-GreenEdge) survived a crash at the finale to win stage two of the Tour of Turkey in Antalya. For Team Blanco Pro Cycling, the crash saw two riders end up in hospital. Mark Renshaw was the first man down as he led Theo Bos with 600 metres to go. The Australian broke a collarbone and Bos had cuts and bruises along with a nasty haematoma on his left hamstring. It was all going so well for Blanco in the second stage. From hospital in Antalya Jeroen Blijlevens reported: ?We really had the ideal situation going for us. Six riders pulled away and a couple of teams kept them in check and closed up the gap. We had agreed to take it easy and make sure we arrived at the finale as an operational team. We managed that, but the spill threw an absolute spanner in the works.? For Renshaw, the Tour of Turkey is now over. His broken collarbone was coupled with a concussion, a strained neck and a missing tooth. He?ll stay in hospital for observation and will have his collarbone operated on in Amersfoort in the Meander Medical Center by Blanco staff surgeon Ger van Olden. Theo Bos returned to the team hotel with Sports Director Jeroen Blijlevens and will be a question mark for tomorrow?s stage three start.
