Standard NRS start today, actually standard start for any sort of cycling in Australia – not enough portaloos! The neutral section was a bit how’s ya father after I almost crashed about 14 seconds in the stage! All the tourists waving from the overpass while we were riding through the city was really cool, and the official chick taunting us with the red flag was wicked fun!

Once the flag dropped, the racing was flat chat and I really struggled to hold position with a lot of surging and crazy stuff going on! I also tried to do my first bunch piss but had cars beeping me so ended up getting stage fright so had to hold it in.

Today was the hardest stage so far out of the three NRS tours I’ve ridden as I to pay attention the whole time and with the bunch always moving to the left then to the right it was tough to eat and drink!

The crash towards the end was off the rails!! I thought I was going down hard and had to Tokyo drift my way through it but I got around it no worries!

At the bottom of the climb the scene was set for a show down. I stuffed up as I was too far back and missed the lead group. I drilled it up the climb and went hard all the way to the line finishing up 14th on the Stage and moved to 5th in the young rider classification! Big thumbs up to our Road Captain Nath Booth looking after me all day like a pro hitter.

Standing around getting ready to leave it was getting really cold as the sun was going down but I had my cookies and cream Torq recovery drink and felt amazing!

McCosker put on a mad BBQ at his joint, which is where I’m writing this. I have just gotten an insane cramp while I was typing, it’s hurting a lot so I have to leave it there! See you all at Stromlo!
