The Strava Challenge Is On!

Strava Logo The Santos Tour Down Under and Strava have joined forces to offer Australia?s recreational cyclists the chance to challenge themselves on climbs around the nation. Riders can choose from seven segment rides that together make up Strava?s Santos Tour Down Under Pre-Tour Challenges, with those who complete a challenge between November 7 and December 5 eligible to win great prizes.   Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Mike Turtur said the promotion was ideal for those planning to tackle the Bupa Challenge Tour on January 25 next year.   “Each year thousands of people enter the Bupa Challenge Tour and are able to ride a stage of the Santos Tour Down Under on the same day as the world?s best cyclists,” Mr Turtur said.   “Now is the time to build strength and endurance for the Bupa Challenge Tour, and measuring your performance on tough local climbs is a great way to do just that.”   The top two male and female cyclists in each state who take part in Strava?s Santos Tour Down Under Pre-Tour Challenges will receive entry to the Bupa Challenge Tour, along with a Santos Tour Down Under merchandise pack.   Riders who finish in third place will also win prizes, with the rider who logs the most attempts to receive a Strava cycling pack.   Santos Tour Down Under Facebook fans and Twitter followers will be able to stay up-to-date with top times logged for segments.   “There?s plenty of friendly competition out there among recreational cyclists, and what better way to stamp your authority on a well-known local climb than to get out and take part in this challenge,” Mr Turtur said.   “I wish everyone taking part the best of luck and look forward to blistering times on every segment involved.”   Strava allows athletes all over the world to share, compare and compete with each other’s personal fitness data via mobile and online apps.   Strava?s Santos Tour Down Under Pre- Tour challenges are as follows:   ?
