[W:Chris Anker S?rensen] will decide on Friday morning whether or not to continue this year?s [W:Tour de France] after his accident during the 17th stage, where he cut two fingers trying to remove a newspaper from his front wheel. On Thursday evening S?rensen underwent surgery on his damaged fingers at the hospital in Toulouse and was given the green light to start on Friday by the surgeon. ??However, the final decision on whether or not to start stage 18 will made by Chris Anker S?rensen and the team doctor on Friday. ?After having been given a local anaesthetic, I feel a lot better but when it loses its effect, I’m pretty sure the pain will be back,? S?rensen said on Thursday after returning from hospital.? ?I’m waiting for tomorrow to decide whether or not I’ll continue the race. However, there’s no doubt it takes a lot of pain to keep me out of the race now as I’m really eager to follow the peloton all the way to Paris.?
